Overview:
Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep (CRD) is a Catholic, college preparatory school for students of all faiths who cannot otherwise afford a private education. CRD nurtures and challenges young women and men to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), which offers a weekly work study experience for all four years.

Purpose:
The Receptionist attends to visitors and deals with phone and in-person inquiries. Provides information regarding the school to the general public, students, and parents. Assists academic administration with a variety of specifically-defined administrative tasks. Maintains school’s attendance records. This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential job responsibilities; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answer telephone, screen, direct calls, and provide information to callers
- Take and relay messages
- Greet visitors
- Sign visitors in and out.
- Deal with queries from visitors, parents, and students
- Receive and sort mail and deliveries
- Order supplies for all departments of the school (except technology and operations) and maintain supply closet inventory
- Manage written and verbal communications for parents/guardians
- Prepare letters and documents and create agendas for academic department visitors
- Prepare documents for Principal
- Manage the Principal’s calendar, schedule parent and student meetings and appointments with other community organizations
- Maintain student attendance records in Infinite Campus
- Email daily attendance summary to all faculty and staff
- Send daily attendance alerts to parents/guardians of absent students
- Maintain hard file of student absence and tardiness notes and update records in Infinite Campus as necessary
- Assist Registrar in maintaining and organizing students’ files
- Participate in the Cristo Rey Advisory and Recreation programs
- Supervise CWSP students in Reception
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree
- Spanish fluency required (speaking, reading and writing)
- Strong written and communication skills; detail oriented; team player; ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Proficient knowledge of Chrome: Google Drive, Email, Calendar, Apps and Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Relentless focus on results, high level accountability, and willingness to do “whatever it takes”
- Candidate must be adept at building rapport and trust with people from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including underrepresented urban youth and first-generation college students
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Cristo Rey Network and model
Compensation:
- Full-time, year-round position with competitive salary, benefits, and paid vacation
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Regularly interact with students, parents, staff and visitors
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.
