Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are glad that you are joining us, as we embark on an exciting year of teaching and learning at Cristo Rey Dallas. To the Class of 2025 welcome to CRD! We look forward to seeing your academic and personal growth over the next 4 years.
After the last year of functioning in a fully virtual, and then hybrid setting we are excited to return to five full days of in-person instruction at our school. Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic we will continue to implement mitigation measures as established by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.)
This will include the requirement for all students and staff to wear masks while indoors and on the buses, social distancing of at least 3 feet between students where practicable, and regular handwashing and/or access to hand sanitizers. All visitors to our campus will also be required to wear masks.
Vaccination is not a requirement for school attendance. However, we are strongly recommending all members of our community get vaccinated. Once fully vaccinated, please submit a copy of your child’s vaccination card to the Nurse Yhajaira.
I am excited about all that this new school year has to offer and look forward to working collectively as a family to ensure that our students are provided with the best educational experience possible to be critical thinkers and responsible citizens that are prepared for college attendance.

¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 2021-2022! Nos alegra que se una a nosotros, ya que nos embarcamos en un año emocionante de enseñanza y aprendizaje en Cristo Rey Dallas. ¡A la clase del 2025, bienvenidos a CRD! Esperamos ver su crecimiento académico y personal durante los próximos 4 años.
Después del último año de funcionamiento en un entorno totalmente virtual y luego híbrido, estamos emocionados de volver a cinco días completos de instrucción en persona en nuestra escuela. Debido al impacto continuo de la pandemia de COVID-19, continuaremos implementando medidas de mitigación según lo establecido por los CDC (Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades). An email was sent out with the bell schedule, schedule distribution times and calendar link with you. Please note that bell schedules will vary depending on the day of the week. All grade levels will return to daily in person instruction.
Please keep in mind that when making doctor’s appointments, they should be scheduled on days off or at different times of the day to avoid loss of instructional time.
* We will use the Mass Bell Schedule for the first day of school.
We will have three times for student schedule distribution. The dates and times are below:
11th and 12th grades: Tuesday, August 10,2021 from 10 am – 2 pm
9th and 10th grades: Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 10 am – 2 pm
All Grades: Wednesday August 11, 2021 from 4 pm – 6 pm

The map that we include in this communication is how we have designed the drop off and dismissal process. We ask you to line up to drop off and pick up students and leave an empty lane so they can exit once the student has gotten into or out of the car. This procedure has been used in the past and if we all cooperate it works perfectly. The safety of your students is very important to us. Other rules that we must all follow to make this process successful is:
- Students must arrive at the parking lot within the established hours. If you need to drop off a student at an earlier time, it must be previously authorized. We need to plan accordingly to have staff available at the school for safety reasons.
- All students must be picked up from the parking lot and at the designated area.
- Form the lines as they were designed and follow the instructions that the security guards indicate.
- For no reason should the exit lane (green on the map) be used to pick up or drop off students.
- Students authorized to drive and who walk home may use the pedestrian entrance, not the vehicle exit, for any reason.
- Students will not be picked up on Avenida San León or around the school. We want to make sure your students are safe at all times until you pick them up.
- Students will be able to come by walking and they will only be able to exit through the pedestrian gate.
- If your student has to walk home, we must know in advance.
- Students will not be allowed off campus, only student workers assigned to work at CRD will be allowed to leave to get their lunch and come back.
- At the exit of the parking lot, you can only turn right onto San Leon Avenue.

El mapa que incluimos en esta comunicación es cómo hemos diseñado el proceso de despido. Les pedimos que hagan fila para dejar y recoger a los estudiantes y dejar un carril vacío para que puedan salir una vez que el estudiante se haya subido al automóvil. Este procedimiento se ha utilizado en el pasado y si todos cooperamos funciona perfectamente. La seguridad de sus estudiantes es muy importante para nosotros.
Otras reglas que todos debemos seguir para que este proceso sea exitoso son:
Los estudiantes deben llegar al estacionamiento dentro del horario establecido.
Si necesita dejar a un estudiante antes del horario asignado, debe ser autorizado previamente. Necesitamos planificar para tener personal disponible en la escuela por razones de seguridad.
Todos los estudiantes deben ser recogidos en el estacionamiento y en su área designada.
Forme las líneas como fueron diseñadas y siga las instrucciones que le indiquen los guardias de seguridad.
Por ningún motivo se debe usar el carril de salida (verde en el mapa) para recoger o dejar a los estudiantes.
Los estudiantes autorizados a conducir y que caminan de y hacia sus casa pueden usar la entrada peatonal, por ningún motivo puedan entrar o salir por la salida de vehículos.
No se recogerá a los estudiantes en la Avenida San León ni en los alrededores de la escuela. Queremos asegurarnos de que sus estudiantes estén seguros en todo momento hasta que los recoja.
Si su estudiante tiene que caminar a casa, debemos saberlo con anticipación.
No se permitirá que los estudiantes salgan del campus, sólo los estudiantes asignados a trabajar en CRD podrán salir para tomar su almuerzo y regresar.
A la salida del estacionamiento, solo se puede girar a la derecha en la Avenida San León.
Hello families and welcome to the 2021/2022 school year. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Olivarez and I am the Academic Registrar, the person who issues transcripts and verification of enrollments (VOEs). If you need a transcript or VOE, please email me at ccochranolivarez@cristoreydallas.org and I will prepare the document for you to pick up. I am so excited to be a part of the Cristo Rey community and look forward to working with everyone as the year progresses.

Nurse Yhajaira will be onsite during the schedule distribution next week to make copies of your student’s COVID-19 vaccination card and to answer any questions regarding COVID -19. Feel free to stop by and ask about any questions or concerns you may have.

It is a great family and community and helps you get in shape and stay in shape for other sports. Our first official practice will be Monday, August 16th after school. The College Guidance team welcomed back the Class of 2022 to kick-off their senior year. CRD alumni were part of a panel discussing college life and how to prepare as CRD seniors. We hope our seniors enjoy their last year as CRD students!
