CRD’s Teacher of the Year is described by her peers as an incredible teacher.

This teacher is an outstanding teacher of the highest caliber, and her accomplishments speak for themselves. She pushes her students to achieve very high levels while also taking the time to tend to their mental and emotional well-being.

For example, she includes fun questions in her class, shares delicious homemade cookies with her students (and colleagues), and she gives time and space for students to share their thoughts so that they are valued and heard at school. She is incredibly reflective and is always
finding ways to improve her already superb teaching.

As a colleague she is extremely supportive. Her colleagues share that she pushes them to be better version of themselves. Alumni students come and visit CRD and always reflect on the direct impact that she made not only on their academic studies, but most importantly on their lives. In her classroom they were constantly challenged to be better versions of themselves.

This CRD teacher serves the school community in countless other ways as well, such as
through her work with the Medical Society, as an Advisor, as a mentor teacher, as an advocate,
and as a role model and inspiration to us all.

As a Principal, when I think about this teacher I am reminded of this quote by Karl Meninger What the teacher is, is more important than what he/she teaches. This teacher IS not only an excellent teacher, but above all A SUPERB HUMAN BEING.

The Teacher of the Year Committee unanimously agrees that this teacher deserves the award because of her excellence in teaching, building positive relationships with students, and her numerous contributions to the CRD community.
