Emily Lazor | 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year

Teaching Experience: 7 years

As a teacher, she creates a space for learning and discovery as well as a
place for dedication and hard work within her classroom. Not only is she
organized, but she teaches her students to be organized by reminding
them of important deadlines and helping them set small goals to reach
large ones. She does a wonderful job of creating opportunities for her
students to practice their presentations and gives helpful feedback to their
papers. As a teacher she is confident, empowering, and fair. She has high expectations of her students, but she too rises to the occasion as an example for them to follow.

As a colleague and CRD community member, Ms. Lazor is a beautiful example of what it means to have a heart for others and encourages her community to be in practice of living to love and honor God and each other. She is considerate of her co-workers and peers. She is constantly checking in on us and having thoughtful conversations. She brings her joy and enthusiasm to our CRD community each day.
