Overview:

Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep is a Catholic, college preparatory school for students from households of low to moderate income. Cristo Rey Dallas nurtures and challenges young women and men of all faiths to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program which offers a weekly work study experience for all four years.

We are seeking a dedicated, intellectually curious and mission driven individual who is open to growth and wants to be part of our community.  They will have the unique opportunity to help develop one of Dallas’s most promising educational options for young men and women from families with low to moderate income.  An ideal candidate should have an appreciation of the school’s mission and a commitment to the values of Catholic education and be comfortable modeling an active and inspiring faith life for all in the community.

Anticipated Start Date:

July 11, 2022

Purpose: 

As a member of the CRD Coaching staff, assistant coaches work alongside head coaches to supervise and instruct student athletes as they develop sport specific skills and mentor them as they grow throughout a sports season. All coaches are expected to model the athletic mission for student athletes. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Training

  • Assisting the head coach in providing training and instruction to student athletes 
  • Providing feedback to student athletes to help improve their performance
  • Coaching fundamentals (footwork, passing, setting, serving, hitting, blocking) without oversight 
  • Teaching serve-receive rotations and offensive schemes
  • Managing JV game plans and rosters

Student Formation

  • Helping track and support the academic performance of student athletes
  • Building and promoting team culture in line with CRD values

Supervision

  • Being present for all competitions and practices 
  • Remaining up to date with required certifications 
  • Driving a school provided shuttle to competitions and athletic events

Qualifications: 

  • Experience playing volleyball at the high school or collegiate level preferred
  • Ability to attend every practice and game in season Mid-July to End of October (some game nights are late)
  • Willingness to espouse the program values Heart, Hustle, and Family

Compensation:

  • Part time, seasonal position with stipend

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Regularly interact with students, parents, staff and visitors.
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Attend and participate in practices Monday-Friday 4-6 PM throughout the regular season
  • Attend and supervise games Tuesday-Thursday evenings during the season
