Position Summary

Join an innovating, dynamic, and mission-based school which values our faculty and students.  Members of the Cristo Rey Dallas Faculty are primarily responsible for the implementation and development of Cristo Rey Dallas curriculum and the success of its students. This position will also plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach a challenging college preparatory curriculum that addresses the current academic levels of students while also ensuring their readiness for College Board exams
  • Implement rigorous, engaging, high-impact lessons that accelerate student growth and differentiate for students
  • Develop annual, unit, and lesson plans that drive student-achievement gains on core assessments, including Cristo Rey Network end-of-course and SAT assessments
  • Maintain a classroom culture and practices that support student learning
  • Design formative and summative standards-based assessments, complete in-depth analysis of student performance on them, and implement appropriate instructional responses to assessment results
  • Reflect on teaching practices through regular coaching meetings guided by the Danielson Framework for Teaching, Teach Like a Champion, and Get Better Faster
  • Communicate regularly to families about the progress of students
  • Support the faith formation of students through, but not limited to, attending Mass, attending retreats, and leading prayer
  • Model values consistent with Catholic education and service to others
  • Enforce and uphold school’s values, policies, and culture
  • Willing to work a longer academic day and year
  • Offer tutoring before and after school
  • Participate in continuing professional development, including school-wide and department-specific best practices and initiatives for instruction and student support
  • Participate actively in the professional community through collaboration with colleagues in a range of contexts
  • Partner with the full Cristo Rey community to further the mission as a college preparatory school
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Principal

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required 
    • Preferred in content area and/or 
    • Combined with relevant work experience
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Cristo Rey Dallas High School
  • Design and implement curricula to serve a student population diverse in culture, religion, and ability
  • Able to Connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families
  • Proficient using technology to advance teaching and learning (Google Suite at minimum)
  • Available to begin working in the 2023-2024 school year (starting in July)
  • Complete VIRTUS training, sign a Code of Conduct, and pass a background check
  • A minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience in an urban or Catholic school secondary education setting preferred
  • Teacher certification preferred 
  • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic, faith-based education
