At Cristo Rey Dallas your student’s health and safety is our top priority.
As your child prepares to return to Cristo Rey Dallas on August 16th, please note that all students are required to use a face mask indoors at school along with other preventive measures such as physical distancing, hand washing and sanitizing, regardless of vaccination status.
Vaccination is not a requirement for school attendance at this time. However, we are strongly recommending all members of our community get vaccinated. Once fully vaccinated, please submit a copy of your child’s vaccination card to the nurse at yzavala@cristoreydallas.org
Please also note that your child’s job placement for the school year could potentially be impacted by his/her vaccination status. We are seeing a growing number of business and industry partners develop COVIID-19 Protocols that include requiring that their employees be fully vaccinated. Cristo Rey Dallas cannot supersede nor override the policies and procedures that our job partners have in place for their employees.
Finally, we will follow the Mass Bell Schedule on Monday, August 16th to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit. To safeguard our school community, this will be a live stream event with a limited number of attendees in the gym. Seniors will be receiving their cross and parents will be able to view through our social media platforms.
We need your help in launching the new school year and ensuring that our entire school community is safe, healthy, and ready to learn. Thank you for entrusting your child’s education to us.

On Monday, August 16, as we open the doors to a new school year, we also open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit through the Mass. Bishop Kelly will be joining us on campus and welcoming the new year through the celebration of the Eucharist.
Unfortunately, with COVID-19 cases on the rise, due to the Delta Variant, we are returning to streaming the Mass and taking communion to 9th-11th grade students in their classroom. Mass is a crucial part of our culture here at CRD and we are glad to make these accommodations to ensure that we protect our culture and our families as well. We will have the senior class and a number of faculty and staff members present, sitting six feet apart in the gym with Bishop Kelly.
At the end of Mass, we will be completing the Senior Crossover, where we give each senior their senior cross. This ceremony is traditionally completed at the conclusion of their junior retreat. Due to COVID-19, this ceremony did not take place and we were unable to cross them over from juniors to the new leaders of our school, the seniors. We are proud of our seniors and all the work they have put into Cristo Rey Dallas, and are excited to start the school year with celebrating them.
Parents are encouraged to join us virtually for Mass online. It will be both recorded and streamed to our Facebook page.
El lunes 16 de agosto, al abrir las puertas a un nuevo año escolar, también nos abrimos al Espíritu Santo a través de la Misa. El Obispo Kelly se unirá a nosotros en campus y dará la bienvenida al nuevo año a través de la celebración de la Eucaristía.
Desafortunadamente, con los casos de COVID-19 en aumento, debido a la variante Delta, estamos volviendo a transmitir la Misa y llevar la comunión a los estudiantes de los grados 9 al 11 en su salón de clases. La misa es una parte crucial de nuestra cultura aquí en CRD y nos complace hacer estos ajustes para asegurarnos de proteger nuestra cultura y también a nuestras familias. The map that we include in this communication is how we have designed the drop off and dismissal process. We ask you to line up to drop off and pick up students and leave an empty lane so they can exit once the student has gotten into or out of the car. This procedure has been used in the past and if we all cooperate it works perfectly. The safety of your students is very important to us. Other rules that we must all follow to make this process successful is:
- Students must arrive at the parking lot within the established hours. If you need to drop off a student at an earlier time, it must be previously authorized. We need to plan accordingly to have staff available at the school for safety reasons.
- All students must be picked up from the parking lot and at the designated area.
- Form the lines as they were designed and follow the instructions that the security guards indicate.
- For no reason should the exit lane (green on the map) be used to pick up or drop off students.
- Students authorized to drive and who walk home may use the pedestrian entrance, not the vehicle exit, for any reason.
- Students will not be picked up on Avenida San León or around the school. We want to make sure your students are safe at all times until you pick them up.
- Students will be able to come by walking and they will only be able to exit through the pedestrian gate.
- If your student has to walk home, we must know in advance.
- Students will not be allowed off campus, only student workers assigned to work at CRD will be allowed to leave to get their lunch and come back.
- At the exit of the parking lot, you can only turn right onto San Leon Avenue.

El mapa que incluimos en esta comunicación es cómo hemos diseñado el proceso de despido. Les pedimos que hagan fila para dejar y recoger a los estudiantes y dejar un carril vacío para que puedan salir una vez que el estudiante se haya subido al automóvil. Otras reglas que todos debemos seguir para que este proceso sea exitoso son:
Los estudiantes deben llegar al estacionamiento dentro del horario establecido.
Si necesita dejar a un estudiante antes del horario asignado, debe ser autorizado previamente. Necesitamos planificar para tener personal disponible en la escuela por razones de seguridad.
Todos los estudiantes deben ser recogidos en el estacionamiento y en su área designada.
Forme las líneas como fueron diseñadas y siga las instrucciones que le indiquen los guardias de seguridad.
Por ningún motivo se debe usar el carril de salida (verde en el mapa) para recoger o dejar a los estudiantes.
Los estudiantes autorizados a conducir y que caminan de y hacia sus casa pueden usar la entrada peatonal, por ningún motivo puedan entrar o salir por la salida de vehículos.
No se recogerá a los estudiantes en la Avenida San León ni en los alrededores de la escuela. Queremos asegurarnos de que sus estudiantes estén seguros en todo momento hasta que los recoja.
Si su estudiante tiene que caminar a casa, debemos saberlo con anticipación.
No se permitirá que los estudiantes salgan del campus, sólo los estudiantes asignados a trabajar en CRD podrán salir para tomar su almuerzo y regresar.
A la salida del estacionamiento, solo se puede girar a la derecha en la Avenida San León.
Senior Adrian Acevedo had a busy summer with NASA! Adrian represented Cristo Rey Dallas at the NASA VIPS Summer Program where where he and his team designed and presented their MARS Trash Ejector to NASA engineers. Adrian was the president of the Engineering Club last year and we hope he shares his experience with the rest of the club this year!
¡El estudiante de último año Adrian Acevedo tuvo un verano excitante con NASA! Adrian representó a Cristo Rey Dallas en el Programa de Verano NASA VIPS, donde él y su equipo diseñaron y presentaron su eyector de basura MARS a ingenieros de NASA. Adrian fue presidente del Club de Ingeniería el año pasado y esperamos que comparta su experiencia con el resto del club este año!
