Last Thursday, October 21st, 2021 the CRD Cross Country Team made us all proud! Our CRD athletes demonstrated their dedication, skill, and heart as they excelled at the District Championship Meet. Our CRD boys got first place and are now overall District Champions! Our girls placed second and are District Runner Up! Hector Ruiz got first place in the JV race and Lizzy Ramirez got 5th place in the JV Girls Race. Both teams race in the state meet on November 1st!
Along with being District Champions and District Runner-Up, we had several runners earn First Team All-District Honors: Angel Esquivel, Diego Sanchez, Esteban Reyna, Adrian Vidales, and Juan Aguirre for the boys for finishing in the top 10. Jocelyn Picazo and Maria Belen Rodriguez earned First Team All District Honors for the girls for finishing in the top 10!
Brayan Ruiz, Viri Solis, Aviahna Gracia, and Yaneli Lopez all earned Second Team All-District Honors for their top 15 finish!
Jocelyn Picazo, Maria Belen Rodriguez, and Viri Solis all shattered the school record, with Jocelyn running 2 miles in 13:21.
The CRD Team will compete at the TAPPS 5A State Meet in Waco, TX on Monday, November 1 at 1:15 PM. Let’s keep them in our prayers and continue to cheer them on!
We extend our thanks to Coach Aragon and Coach Woodward. Thank you for helping our student athletes reach their fullest potential. We know that our students can accomplish ANY goal they set for themselves and their team!

¡El jueves pasado, 21 de octubre de 2021, el equipo CRD Cross Country nos enorgulleció a todos! Nuestros atletas de CRD demostraron su dedicación, habilidad y corazón al sobresalir en el Campeonato del Distrito. ¡Nuestros muchachos de CRD obtuvieron el primer lugar y ahora son campeones generales del distrito! ¡Nuestras muchachas quedaron en segundo lugar y son finalistas del distrito! Héctor Ruiz obtuvo el primer lugar en la carrera JV y Lizzy Ramirez obtuvo el quinto lugar en la carrera JV Girls. ¡Ambos equipos compiten en el estado el 1 de noviembre!
Además de ser Campeones de Distrito y Subcampeón de Distrito, tuvimos varios corredores que obtuvieron los Honores del Primer Equipo de Todo el Distrito: Angel Esquivel, Diego Sánchez, Esteban Reyna, Adrian Vidales y Juan Aguirre para los muchachos por terminar entre los 10 primeros. Jocelyn Picazo y Maria Belen Rodriguez obtuvieron los honores del primer equipo de todos los distritos para las muchachas por terminar entre las 10 mejores.

Both Volleyball JV and Varsity took the win during Senior Night! We had a full house of CRD spectators that cheered on our team! Congratulations to all the players and the senior team members who were celebrated.

Join us on Friday, November 5 at 8:30AM as we bring back Parent Rosaries. We invite all parents of students to participate in praying the Holy Rosary on the first Friday of each month in the Catholic Foundation Chapel located in our Innovation Center. The graces from these decades are felt around campus! We hope that you come and petition Our Lady for our students. Masks will be required.

November 1, we will be celebrating the All Saints Day Mass, honoring both the canonized saints and the saints that have reached Heaven and are praying for us, today. This Mass will be at 7:45AM. It is important that all students arrive at school on time to attend Mass in the NexBank Gym. At the end of the Mass, the students will be invited to write down the name of a loved one and place that name on the altar. A special prayer will be lifted for the souls of the faithfully departed that we still love and miss, today. These names will remain there until the end of November being prayed for.

Invite them to write that person’s name down at the Mass.
El 1 de noviembre, estaremos celebrando la Misa del Día de Todos los Santos, en honor tanto a los santos canonizados como a los santos que han llegado al cielo y están orando por nosotros hoy. Esta Misa será a las 7:45 AM. Es importante que todos los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo para asistir a misa en el gimnasio NexBank. Al final de la Misa, se invita a los estudiantes a escribir el nombre de un ser querido y colocar ese nombre en el altar. Se elevará una oración especial por las almas de los fieles difuntos que todavía amamos y extrañamos, hoy. Estos nombres permanecerán allí hasta finales de noviembre para que se ore por ellos.

Starting in November, we are bringing awareness of the Catholic Social Teachings (CST) to the Fire Wire and to the school as a whole. We are doing this by partnering with different clubs, the theology department, and various organizations on campus. At the start of each month, there will be a short video explaining the social teaching put in both the Fire Wire and on our Social Media. The second week of each month, we will be challenging the students to a competition illustrating the CST through various avenues. Come back to the Fire Wire during the third week of the month and read one of our student’s reflection on the CST. As we begin this journey of bringing awareness about the dignity of life, rights for workers, family and community, our rights and responsibilities, poor and vulnerable, solidarity, and care for God’s creation.
A partir de noviembre, estamos dando a conocer las enseñanzas sociales católicas (CST) en el Fire Wire y a la escuela en general. Estamos haciendo esto al asociarnos con diferentes clubs, el departamento de teología y varias organizaciones en el campus. Al comienzo de cada mes, habrá un video corto que explica la enseñanza social puesta tanto en el Fire Wire como en nuestras redes sociales. La segunda semana de cada mes, los estudiantes tendran una competencia que ilustra el CST a través de varias avenidas. Regrese al Fire Wire durante la tercera semana del mes y lea una de las reflexiones de nuestros estudiantes sobre el CST. Al comenzar este viaje de concienciar sobre la dignidad de la vida, los derechos de los trabajadores, la familia y la comunidad, nuestros derechos y responsabilidades, los pobres y los vulnerables, la solidaridad y el cuidado de la creación de Dios.
The CRD Counseling Team took over the freshmen PE class last Friday. Our students learned new ways to resolve conflict in a healthy way to help promote Bullying Prevention Month. Mental health is just as important as our physical health!
El equipo de consejería de CRD se hizo cargo de la clase de educación física para estudiantes de primer año el viernes pasado. Nuestros estudiantes aprendieron nuevas formas de resolver conflictos de una manera saludable para ayudar a promover el Mes de la Prevención al Bullying. ¡La salud mental es tan importante como nuestra salud física!
