SUMMARY:
Cristo Rey Dallas Athletics seeks a mission-driven professional who will serve as the Head JV Women’s Volleyball Coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this experienced professional will be responsible for providing exemplary leadership for students who will advance the mission of the school and athletic department, mentor and help develop student-athletes as volleyball players and women, and be a positive participant in the school culture, and develop positive relationships with school colleagues and administration. Cristo Rey Dallas nurtures and challenges young women and men of all faiths to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others, and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program which offers a weekly work study experience for all four years.
Qualified Candidates must have availability Monday – Friday after 3:45 pm and occasional weekends during volleyball season. Candidates will be driven and inspired by the mission to serve and lead while being open to growth and wanting to be a part of our community. An ideal candidate should have an appreciation of the school’s mission and a commitment to the values of Catholic education and be comfortable modeling an active and inspiring faith life for all in the community.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Qualified candidates will be able to perform the following duties at an exemplary level:
- Coordinate aspects of the JV Women’s Volleyball program with the Varsity Coach.
- Work alongside the Varsity Coach to develop players and the program.
- Train, coach and promote members of the team.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, coaching staff, and the community.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff, and school administration.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions and develop competition/performance strategies.
- Work with the Varsity Coach to schedule games with approval of the Director of Athletics and athletic office
- Adhere to expectations listed out in the Cristo Rey Dallas Athletics Coaches Code of Conduct
- Assume responsibility for inventory, selection and care of equipment.
- Assume responsibility for care of the gym space, equipment and maintenance (if applicable)
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Abide by the rules and regulations established by Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).
- Communicate with school families regularly through official school communications.
- Communicate with the Director of Athletics of any updates and changes.
- Create your Pre-season and practice schedule along with the Varsity Coach.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate high levels of positive motivational skills.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics for the efficient operation of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years Head Coaching experience at the high school level or above level.
- Experience playing volleyball at the high school level or above preferred.
- Complete annual NFHS Concussions in Sports Course
- Possess a superior knowledge of volleyball including, but not limited to, knowledge of training and conditioning techniques and the ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- A Valid Driver’s License as the qualified candidate will be required to drive the teams shuttle to games.
