Overview:
Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep is a Catholic, college preparatory school for students from households of low to moderate income. Cristo Rey Dallas nurtures and challenges young women and men of all faiths to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program which offers a weekly work study experience for all four years.

Purpose:
As a member of the CRD Coaching staff, the strength and conditioning coach will oversee the athletic lifting program in the CRD weight room and will serve as the head coach for the Powerlifting Team. This individual will create workout programs for student athletes designed to increase stamina, improve mobility, and decrease injury. All coaches are expected to model the athletic mission for student athletes, due to the nature of this position, this individual will also be expected to encourage body neutrality and a growth mindset.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Training
- Creating lifting programs for CRD Athletics aimed to improve performance and decrease injury.
- Providing feedback to student athletes to help improve their performance
- Overseeing and Coaching the CRD Powerlifting Team
Student Formation
- Helping track and support the academic performance of student athletes
- Encouraging student athletes who may be struggling academically.
- Building and promoting team culture in line with CRD values
Supervision
- Being present for all lifting sessions
- Remaining up to date with required certifications
- Driving to competitions when required
Qualifications:
- Experience with strength training for mobility. CSCS, NASM -CPT, or NSCA CPT preferred.
- Ability to attend and supervise weight training from 4-6 PM, Monday – Thursday.
- Experience coaching novice lifters.
- Experience working directly with student athletes.
Compensation:
- Part time position with stipend
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Regularly interact with students, parents, staff and visitors.
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Attend, plan, and participate in practices (Afternoons from 4-6 PM, Some mornings)
- Ability to safely spot powerlifts.
